Getting started

Athenous is an AI-powered marketing platform. You can try it from the marketing site with Try it free (no signup) or sign up for the full app.

In the app: Open Account in the sidebar and click Help to open this guide in a new tab anytime.

Sign up and log in

From the landing page, click Get Started or Sign In. Create an account with email and password, or use Google or LinkedIn if your organization has those enabled. After signup you’ll land in the app Dashboard.

First steps in the app

  • Go to Explore to add the modules you need (Connector, Campaigns, Post, Athenous Lab, Automate, Collaborate, Analytics, etc.). Your sidebar will then show only the modules you’ve added.
  • Start with Athenous Lab (AI Studio) and Connections if you want to generate content and connect channels first.
  • Use the Dashboard for quick actions: Growth Strategy, Publishing Time, Generate Content, Schedule post, View Analytics, and more—depending on your workspace type (Creator, Agency, Enterprise).

Tip: On the marketing site, Try it free lets you enter a product description and get sample ad variations without creating an account. The same flow is available inside Athenous Lab after you sign in.

Account & profile

Manage your identity and preferences from Profile and Settings.

Profile

Open Profile from the app menu to view and edit your display name, company, and role. Click Edit, change the fields, then Save. Your email is shown but may be managed through your authentication provider. Profile data is used to personalize the experience and for workspace context.

Workspace type

If your account supports it, you can set a workspace type (Creator, Agency, or Enterprise). This affects which Lab tools and quick actions appear by default. Change it from Profile or Settings if the option is available.

Sign out

Use Sign out (or Log out) in the user menu to end your session. You’ll need to sign in again to access the app.

Billing & plans

The Billing page shows your plan, subscription, and invoices. You need the appropriate permissions to change billing.

Viewing plans

Open Billing from the app. You’ll see available plans (e.g. Free, Pro, Team) with features and price. Your current plan and billing cycle (monthly or yearly) are shown at the top.

Subscribing to a plan

Click Subscribe (or equivalent) on the plan you want. You’ll be redirected to a secure checkout. Complete payment; when done, your subscription appears on the Billing page.

Changing plan

To upgrade or downgrade, use Change plan (or similar) next to your subscription. Select the new plan and confirm. The change applies at the next billing cycle or immediately depending on configuration.

Managing payment method & invoices

If your workspace uses Stripe, you may see a link to Manage billing or Customer portal. There you can update the payment method, download invoices, and view billing history. Invoices may also be listed on the Billing page with dates and amounts.

Cancelling

To cancel a subscription, use Cancel (or Cancel subscription) on the Billing page. Confirm in the dialog. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. For refunds or billing issues, contact support (see Contact support).

Explore & workspace

Explore is where you choose which product modules appear in your app. Your sidebar and dashboard adapt to the modules you add.

Available modules

  • Athenous Connector – Connect channels (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google, etc.) for ads and posts. Opens Connections.
  • Athenous Ad – Manage campaigns and ads. Opens Campaigns.
  • Athenous Post – Plan, schedule, and publish social posts.
  • Athenous Lab – Run AI tools (content, growth strategy, publishing time, sentiment, budget, insights, etc.). Opens AI Studio.
  • Athenous Insights – Industry and competitor insights; opens Lab with the Insights tool.
  • Athenous Templates – Save and reuse prompt presets. Opens Templates.
  • Athenous Analytics – Dashboards and performance reports.
  • Athenous Reports – Scheduled and custom reports (also under Analytics).
  • Athenous Automate – Rules on schedule, events, or manual trigger.
  • Athenous Collaborate – Workspaces and team members.
  • Athenous Audience, Budget, Ad Creative, Campaign Insights, Ad Experiments, etc. – Open specific tools in Athenous Lab.

Other app pages (always in the sidebar when added): Dashboard, History (past AI runs), Creative Library, Content Calendar (Planner), Profile, Settings, Billing. Open Account in the sidebar for Profile, Settings, Billing, and Help.

Adding a module

In Explore, find the module and click Add (or similar). The module is added to your workspace and a link appears in the sidebar. You can open it immediately from the card.

Removing a module

If the option is available, remove a module from Explore or Settings so it no longer appears in the sidebar. Your data for that module is not deleted; you can add it again later.

Athenous Lab (AI Studio)

Athenous Lab (shown as Athenous Lab in the sidebar) is the AI Studio: content generation, growth strategy, publishing time, sentiment, budget optimization, insights, and more. Choose a tool, fill in the inputs, and click Run; results appear on the right.

How to use a tool

  1. Open Athenous Lab from the sidebar (route: /ai-studio).
  2. Select a tool from the list (e.g. Generate Content, Growth Strategy, Publishing Time, Sentiment Check, Budget Optimization, Campaign Ideas, A/B Test Analysis, Attribution, Share of Voice, Lead Scoring, Journey Map, Performance Prediction, Keyword Trends).
  3. Fill in the form (product description, audience, platform, tone, etc.—fields vary by tool).
  4. Click Run. Results appear in the results panel.
  5. Copy, export, or use Send to Post to push copy to the Post module.

Content Generation

Generate ad copy, email copy, or social post text. Enter product/service description, target audience, platform (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn), tone, and optional constraints. The AI returns headline, description, CTA, and variations. Use the format dropdown to view as plain text, Markdown, or JSON.

Campaign Ideas

Get campaign concepts, hooks, and cross-channel angles. Provide a brief, audience, and goals; the tool suggests multiple ideas you can refine or use in Campaigns and Post.

Performance Prediction

Forecast impressions, clicks, and conversions based on budget, targeting, and creative inputs. Useful for planning and scenario comparison.

Budget Optimization

Get recommendations for allocating budget across channels. Enter channels and current or planned spend; the tool suggests an optimized allocation and optional constraints (e.g. max CPA).

A/B Test Analysis

Analyze A/B test results for statistical significance. Input metrics for variants; the tool indicates which variant wins and confidence level.

Sentiment Analysis

Paste copy to analyze tone and sentiment. Use it to stay on-brand and avoid unintended tone before publishing.

Audience Segmentation

Segment customers with AI. Input audience or behavioral data to get segments and targeting suggestions.

Marketing Insights

Get industry and competitor insights, trend signals, and opportunity scores to inform when and where to launch campaigns.

Keyword Trend

Analyze keyword volume trends over time to plan content and campaigns.

Seasonality

Detect monthly seasonality patterns to optimize scheduling and budget.

Share of Voice

Compare your brand mentions vs competitors to gauge market presence.

Bid Optimizer

Get bid adjustment recommendations for paid campaigns (available where supported).

Lead Scoring

Score leads for prioritization (typically in Enterprise).

Journey Map

Map customer journey stages and drop-offs to improve funnel and messaging.

Attribution

Multi-touch attribution analysis to understand which touchpoints drive conversions.

Publishing Time

Get recommended best times to publish per platform based on engagement and seasonality.

Growth Strategy

Get a personalized growth plan: posting frequency, content pillars, best times, and a weekly plan.

Usage limits

Your plan has a monthly limit for Lab runs (prompts + tool runs). The Lab or Profile page may show usage (e.g. “X / Y this month”). If you hit the limit, wait for the next billing cycle or upgrade. Simplify inputs or reduce runs if results are slow or failing.

History & templates

History

History lists your past AI runs (Lab tools and prompts). Open it from the sidebar. You can browse runs, see inputs and results, copy outputs, and Re-run with the same or edited inputs. Re-run opens Athenous Lab with the tool and inputs prefilled.

The list combines history stored with your account with runs saved in this browser (for example when you were offline or before sync). Only the most recent entries are shown (up to a fixed limit). If you use another device or clear browser data, local-only entries may no longer appear.

Use Clear history to remove both local and account history for Lab runs in one step; this cannot be undone and does not delete campaigns or posts. Export CSV lets you keep a copy before clearing.

Templates

Templates store saved presets for Athenous Lab, Automate, and other flows. After running a tool in Lab, use Save as template to store the current inputs under a name. The Templates page groups items by category (for example Lab, rules, content, campaign, and creative-related presets)—use search and filters to find what you need. Open a template with Open in Lab, Start from template in Automate, or the actions shown for that type. Delete templates you no longer need. Server-backed templates are available across sessions.

Creative Library

Creative Library stores reusable creatives: name, headline, body copy, image, and call-to-action label. Search and sort the list; create, edit, duplicate, or remove items so your team reuses the same bundles instead of retyping them each time.

Using creatives in Post

From Post, use Insert from library (or the equivalent link) to open the library and apply a saved creative to the post you are composing. Connect the right channel under Connections before publishing.

Note: Creative Library is for saved creative assets. Templates holds Lab prompts, automation starters, and similar presets—use both together when you want repeatable inputs and reusable headline/image/copy sets.

Connections

Connections is where you connect external channels (Meta, LinkedIn, Google, TikTok, Snap, YouTube, etc.) so you can publish posts and sync ads data.

Connection types

Each platform may have separate connection types: Ads (for ad accounts and campaign sync), Posts (for organic publishing), and sometimes Sync (e.g. Google Sheets, Drive). Connect the type you need for Post or Campaigns.

How to connect

In Connections, find the platform and click Connect for the type (Ads or Posts). Complete the provider’s login and authorization in the popup or redirect. When done, the connection appears as connected. You can then select it in Post when publishing and use it for campaign sync or analytics where supported.

Disconnecting

To disconnect, open Connections and use Disconnect (or Remove) for that connection. Any scheduled posts or syncs using that connection may fail after disconnect. Reconnect by going through the connect flow again if a token has expired or was revoked.

Tip: Only connect accounts you’re authorized to use. Keep connections active so Post and Campaigns can publish and sync without errors.

Security & data

OAuth and connectors. When you connect a channel (Meta, LinkedIn, Google, TikTok, etc.), Athenous uses OAuth, an industry-standard flow: you sign in on the provider’s website and approve access. Athenous receives tokens scoped to what you allow (for example posting or reading ad performance). We do not store your passwords for those networks. You can disconnect anytime in Connections; tokens can expire or be revoked by you or the provider.

Policies. How we collect, use, and protect data—including account and product usage—is explained in our public documents:

  • Privacy Policy — personal data, processing, and your rights
  • Terms of Service — rules for using Athenous
  • Cookie Policy — cookies and similar tech on the marketing site and where applicable

For account security (password, two-factor authentication), use Settings in the app.

Campaigns

The Campaigns module lets you create and manage ad campaigns: name, description, dates, and status. Add it via Explore if you don’t see it in the sidebar.

Creating a campaign

Click Create campaign (or New campaign). Enter name, optional description, start and end dates, and save. The campaign appears in the list and can be used in Post and for optimization.

Campaign list

View all campaigns in a table or list. Filter by status (e.g. Active, Paused, Completed) and search by name. Columns may include name, status, budget, spent, impressions, clicks, conversions, and ROI where data is available.

Status and actions

Change status (e.g. Active ↔ Paused) from the row or detail view. Use Optimize to run AI optimization; recommendations may appear in Lab or in the campaign view. Edit and Delete are available where supported; delete only if you’re sure the campaign is not needed.

Sync from ad platforms

If you have connected ad accounts (e.g. Meta, Google), you may be able to sync campaigns from the platform into Athenous so you can see performance in one place. Use the sync option on the Campaigns page or in Settings if shown.

Post (social publishing)

Post is for planning and publishing social content. Create drafts, attach copy from Lab, choose channels and content type, schedule or publish immediately.

Creating a post

  • Open Post and click New post (or Create).
  • Write or paste the copy, or use From Lab to pull in content you generated in Athenous Lab.
  • Select one or more channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, Snap). Content type and privacy options may change by channel.
  • Choose content type (e.g. Text, Image, Video, Story, Reel) and visibility (Public, Followers, etc.) as needed.
  • Optionally link the post to a Campaign for reporting.

Scheduling vs publishing now

Set a date and time to Schedule the post, or click Publish now to send it immediately. Scheduled posts appear in the calendar or list and are published at the chosen time if the channel connection is valid.

Drafts and calendar

Save drafts to finish later. Use the calendar or list view to see scheduled and published posts, and edit or delete as allowed.

Tip: Connect your channels under Connections before publishing. Without a connection, publishing for that channel will fail.

Automate (rules)

Automate lets you create rules that run on a schedule, on events (e.g. campaign created, post published), or when triggered manually.

Trigger types

  • Schedule – Run at fixed times (e.g. daily at 9:00, weekdays, every hour). You can use cron-style expressions or presets.
  • Event – Run when something happens (e.g. campaign_created, post_published). Choose the event type when creating the rule.
  • Manual – Run only when you click Run in the UI or trigger via API.

Creating a rule

Click New rule. Give it a name and optional description. Set the trigger (schedule, event, or manual). Optionally set conditions (when) and actions (then)—e.g. send email, call webhook, notify. Save the rule. It will run according to the trigger.

Rule templates

Use Start from template to create rules from presets (e.g. daily digest at 9:00, notify when campaign is created, webhook when post is published). Edit the template’s trigger and actions to fit your needs.

Run history

View run history per rule: time, status (Pending, Running, Success, Failed), and details. Use this to debug failed runs or confirm schedules.

Collaborate (workspaces & team)

Collaborate is for workspaces and team members. You can create workspaces, invite members, and assign roles.

Workspaces

A workspace groups campaigns, posts, and settings for a team or client. Create a workspace from Collaborate with a name and optional description. Switch between workspaces using the workspace switcher in the app; the sidebar and data shown depend on the active workspace.

Members and roles

  • Admin – Full access: manage members, billing, and workspace settings.
  • Member – Can edit and share content; may not delete workspace or manage billing.
  • Viewer – View-only access to content and reports.

Inviting members

From the workspace, use Invite (or Add member). Enter email and choose role. The invitee receives an email and can join the workspace. Manage or remove members from the member list as needed.

Dashboard & analytics

Dashboard

The Dashboard (/dashboard) is your home after login. It shows quick actions that vary by workspace type: Creator (Growth Strategy, Publishing Time, Generate Content, Sentiment Check, Schedule post, View Analytics, History), Agency (adds Budget Optimization, A/B Test Analysis, Attribution, Share of Voice, Manage Campaigns), Enterprise (adds Lead Scoring, Bid Optimizer, Journey Map, Performance Prediction). Click any action to jump to Athenous Lab (with the right tool) or to Post, Campaigns, or Analytics.

Analytics

Open Analytics (/analytics) for performance dashboards and reports. You may see charts for impressions, clicks, conversions, spend, and ROI by channel or campaign. Use filters and date ranges to focus on the right period. Export or share reports where the option is available. Add the Athenous Analytics module from Explore if you don’t see it in the sidebar.
